Born in 1902, Annie Boyd grew up in a nice, happy home in Chicago. She despised her older brother, but her parents were flawlessly cute in public and private. Late one evening, as she walked home from a friend’s house, a mysterious person emerged from nowhere, addressing her as Katherine and rambling about a man named Klaus in town, urging her to leave quickly.Annie had no idea who the man was and hurriedly walked away. Unfortunately, it was her biggest mistake. The man realized she wasn’t his target, but she was a close enough substitute. He attacked her. Without warning, she woke up in an abandoned house, and the man stood silently in the corner, observing her. He explained who he was and what he planned to do, and how they could just be together forever because she looked just like this Katherine woman. Before he put his plan in motion, he kept her locked up in an abandoned basement within a dilapidated house, trying to accustom her to spending her whole life with him, occasionally compelling her when he felt things weren't going his way. Once he felt like she wasn't going to run away, he fed her his blood and snapped her neck. When she opened her eyes again, she was 'dead' and all the compulsion he had tried to drill in to her mind was slowly starting to fade already, but she kept that to herself, waiting to see what he planned to do with her. He took her out to feed as soon as it became night time, and once she’d fed, he’d given her a daylight talisman, a small bracelet with a single lapis lazuli stone set into it.One night, he decided to go out on his own. Annie had told him she wasn't hungry and that she was fine staying back and waiting for him to come home, but as soon as he'd been gone long enough, she escaped from the basement she'd been locked in for months, leaving the city she used to call home to get as far away from him as possible before he had a chance to realize she had left.Fast forward to the present, Annie had only recently found out what the man had meant when he’d said she looked just like someone else. It was more literal than she imagined. Discovering her multiple doppelgängers was far from a life highlight, especially when she kept getting dragged into their messes.

 Main Verse | I am embarrassingly 1920s in style   Annie lives just outside of Mystic Falls, having thought that a nice small town would be a good place to move to. She’d hoped that she’d be able to just live her life in silence, away from any sort of dramatics that the supernatural world always roped her into, and yet, somehow it still managed to drag her in as she realized she had another girl who looked like her, as if one wasn’t bad enough. (Can take place anywhere between S1-S8 of TVD) 20s Verse | This is my roaring 20s   Being in what seems like a perfect family, is well, perfect. Her father had a good job and her mother was the most perfect housewife you’d ever met, her annoyingly perfect brother was going to a great college, while Annie on the other hand was most content sneaking into any good speakeasy she could find. Perhaps this was why she was never allowed out in public with her family, not that she cared much.

Moving to Mystic Falls was not what Annie had wanted to do when she’d spent her whole life in Chicago, but her parents got a new job and said it would be good for them so away they went. Finding out that there was a girl who looked just like her at the local highschool in town? Icing on the cake really. Chicago AU | My kind of razzmatazz 
After her ordeal in Chicago, Annie travelled around the world for a bit to get away from the memories that were causing her so much pain. But after travelling for so many years, she realized that Chicago was her home and there was no reason why she couldn't go back. She'd just have to make new memories to replace the bad ones. Novel AU | Do you believe in vampires? 
Annie decided to move to Fell's Church after what happened to her in Chicago, hoping a small town and a fresh start would be good for her. Being a vampire came with it's pros & cons, but she tried to make the best of it. She was just starting to get a hang of some of her new powers, and was finally able to blend in like a normal person again. Or at least, a normal as a person can be when they're 'technically' dead.

Growing up in an apocalypse was not how Annie wanted her life to go. She had been quite young when Walkers started roaming the country, and learning how to survive instead of going to school was not in any of her plans. Her family spent years moving from place to place until they finally came across the Sanctuary, where the only thing they had to do to keep safe was to work hard, and at the very least that was something Annie could do.  AMC's Interview with the Vampire AU | The Mardi Gras memories  
When she was quite young, Annie's parents decided to make the move from Chicago all the way to New Orleans for a sort of fresh start to their lives now that they had two kids and felt pretty secure in their lifestyle. As she grew up, Annie grew to love New Orleans and all the late nights out on the town, the music, everything. One night changed all that though. She was walking home from a local club, when she was snatched off the street. The person who snatched her, turned out to be a vampire. He never told her his name, nor anything about himself really. To her, he seemed to be not quite himself, constantly pacing and rambling while she cowered in the corner.
One night after he'd brought her a measly dinner, just enough to keep her alive, he attacked her out of nowhere. She barely had a chance to scream before everything faded to black. The next thing she knew, she was awake with a thirst only for blood and the man who had turned her was gone, having left her alone to fend for herself in this new world she found herself living in.
(Modern Day: She travels all around America, having found a newfound sense of freedom finally after all of these years, mostly by herself with the occasional companion, but she always ends up back in New Orleans, her home.)  Marvel AU | The concept of immortality is so seductive

After being turned back in the '20s by some random vampire passing through Chicago who'd gotten bored, she was left to fend for herself as a newly made vampire. Annie bounced across America, finding different towns to live in for a short while before having to leave because she couldn't control herself. Years passed until she finally managed to get her feeding habits under control, ending up in the small town of Forks for a time. Luckily for her, no one seemed to question her oddly pale appearance and almost black eyes due to the contacts she forced herself to wear when interacting with humans. Maybe it was because there was a family just like her in town, but they were walking around in plain sight with gold eyes and an awkward, almost stilted manner. At least she'd gotten good at pretending to be normal (ish).  Star Wars AU | With the smuggling crew  
Annie grew up in the Outer Rim, spending her childhood stealing and scavenging to get by, hidden away by her parents since they were a family of Energy Vampires. But one day, a smuggler ship touched down on their planet. Annie, simply seeking an escape and a taste of freedom, impulsively boarded the ship and nestled beneath the floorboards. Once they reached Coruscant, the smugglers found her and, impressed by her sneaking abilities, invited her to join their crew. While in her teenage years, she was heavily involved in aiding them with smuggling operations across different planets, but upon reaching adulthood, she felt the need for a change. They dropped her off back on Coruscant, and with the money she earned, she got herself a small apartment and opened her own little store-front, selling little handmade trinkets.
